Who is a shepherd
A shepherd is someone who simply tends, feeds, guards and guides the sheep.
A shepherd protects, guides, and watches over the flock. That is, the duty of the Shepherd is primarily towards the sheep.
Without the sheep, there will not be a need for shepherds. The term shepherd is the position that the Bible uses to describe leaders based on what their duties are towards the people. Leaders are sometimes referred to as shepherds.

A sheep is meek and timid sometimes it can be stupid. A sheep cannot see far which means sheep don’t have sharp vision. Sheep are submissive sheep and only see through their shepherd. Sheep can be playful they can be docile they are so dependent.
If these are the characteristics of the sheep then we as sheep according to the scriptures need the help of the Shepherd which is God. They need the guidance of their Shepherd to get through life and that is the reason why as Christians we need our Shepherd to go through and navigate this life.
