DO NOT BE TROUBLED

Posted In: Meditations

Let not your heart be troubled’

John 14:1 – Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Matthew 24:6-8, 25, 29-33. KJV

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Behold, I have told you before. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

When you look around you, so many things are happening globally that can dampen your spirit. There are so many things in every aspect of life, talk of the economy that has gone so bad over the past years. Inflation globally is worse off today than at any time in history. War, famine, and sicknesses in diverse places are recorded daily. The purchasing power of most households has been reduced to the barest minimum. The crime rate has soared while the innocent, the masses, the common people, and even the middle-class people are the worst off ever. All these things happening are part of the end-time agenda just before the end of this age. It’s been clearly stated in the Bible that all of these things are to herald the second coming of Christ. Verse 25 above from Jesus is very emphatic – BEHOLD, I HAVE TOLD YOU BEFORE. In a clearer term, I have warned you, don’t be taken by surprise. It will happen. That’s a final authority. Be ready for it.

What is happening globally is beyond what any government policy can resolve – it’s clearly beyond them. They can only try but that will never solve the myriad of the problems. No way. There’s practically no government ideology – socialism, welfarism, or capitalism that can help. As time goes on, things will get worse.

What are we told to do?

What does Jesus expect from you and me?

That brings us to the theme of today’s topic which was very clearly stated thus: John 14:1 – Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. This may mean among other things: that I am in charge, therefore,

– Relax…

– Nothing to worry about…

-Do not panic…

– Do not fear…

– Be in control…

– Don’t despair…

-There’s a way out for you…..

– You cannot suffer or be abandoned…..

– I will sort you out…

– I have great plans for you…

– Trust me…..

What a word of assurance amid this terrible downturn in global affairs. What a joy, and such great news that the situation is not to swallow you up or destroy you. It’s so soothing to know that He won’t abandon us. Jesus made it very clear about what to do:

– Believe in God, also believe in me.

There are so many words of assurance in the Bible as regards this subject matter. Below are some references:

John 16: [33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Hebrews [13:5] Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

With all these Words of assurance, I can boldly declare to you that there’s nothing to be troubled about. God is already in charge of the matter.

Remember also these words.

Isaiah 43:1-2. But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. [2] When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Whatever you see or pass through, forget it, it can never have any adverse effects on you. Period.

From this moment, let your heart be peaceful and joyful because you are not permitted to be blown away in the several hurricanes of unpalatable affairs of life bedeviling all the nations of the world at this time. God is in charge and He has undertaken for you and I.

Praise the Lord,
