A wounded Lion
Satan is a wounded lion!
Let not your heart be troubled…
One of the strategies that soldiers use when they are confronted with battle or before they even go to the battlefield is that they try to assess, analyze, and estimate the power of the opposition. They want to know the strength of the opposition army their ammunitions and their past victories so that it will help them to prepare adequately to win the battle.
The same thing applies to the everyday life battles that the enemy tries to bring to our doorstep, we all know as Christians that satan is our arc enemy therefore when we are faced with challenges, before we rush into the battle it is good to have the understanding of knowing who your opponent is, his strength level and what he is capable to do.
Who exactly am I fighting? Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. No matter the form of the challenge whether it manifested as human opposition, bodily affliction, or limitations and financial stagnations, the truth of the word of God is that the battle is more than what you imagine, it is not a natural realm fight but a spiritual realm fight.
Satan the mastermind of all battles could camouflage as a lion which he is not. Have you gone to a cinema to watch a movie and maybe in that movie you can see a lion approaching the camera and it appears he is coming right towards you? Momentarily you may be carried away and fear as if you are seeing a lion but that lion cannot come to you, when Satan is approaching like a lion we can be terrified because of the way it comes; what we are hearing as a sound from his image but he is just an image, just a shadow the real lion is inside of you therefore do not be troubled. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. What he is trying to do is to intimidate us. Christians need to understand the power and the strategy of the enemy do not fold your hands or be carried away, Jesus said in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
The enemy that we are fighting is a liar. He has a way of presenting the facts to make them look like the truth. Satan creates fears with his lies to make you fidget or shift from the right path that you have chosen. Through his lies, he will bring up his situation and tell you this is the end of the road for you no way of escape again this is what we kill you! What a lie God promised that even in the face of temptation He has made a way of escape for us! So you do need to listen to him. 1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Satan is a defeated foe he does not have a place in heaven nor should he operate freely again on earth because Jesus came to defeat him. Colossian 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. The authority that he took from the first Adam was restored to us by the second Adam. So you are fighting somebody that is already defeated.
Satan is right under our feet! How do I know? The bible says that we are seated in Christ Jesus in heavenly places and the Bible says that the earth is the footstool of our God which means since Jesus dwells in God, we are in Christ therefore we are where God is in heaven having all authority of the prince of this world under our feet. What you can place your feet on is inferior to you.
The enemy may appear mighty and huge but that does not mean it cannot be defeated. Don’t mind his stature don’t mind what he looks like victory over the enemy is certain. A good example is that of David and Goliath in 1King 16 and 17, at the back of David’s mind Goliath is already defeated because he was not moved by his stature nor was he moved by his war regalia all he could see is a defeated and a dead giant. David could see the bear and the lion that he killed in him, David saw on the battlefield a man that was as low as an animal in the bush he didn’t see the giants that other soldiers were seeing. That is why he is so confident that his skill in slingshot will bring him down. He wasn’t in the warrior outfit that other soldiers were but he would use his staff and his stone to kill any intruder.
That is how you should see when there is any form of challenge that is confronting you or your family. What your physical eyes can see is not as important as what your spiritual can see.
Satan is already judged and condemned he knows where he is going but he’s looking for as many as those that he will drag along. By the blood of Jesus, we have overcome him because he is a prisoner! Can you imagine somebody who is free who is fighting a prisoner who is caged and is still afraid of the caged giant? When you go to the zoo and you see lions in their cage, you are free to move close to the cage without them jumping over to attack you because they are restricted. That is the case of satan too, he is bound by the blood of Jesus forever. Your enemy is restricted except you use your mouth to free him. Guard your utterances on the battlefield because satan can make your words a snare to your soul. Do not forget the enemy you are fighting is not as big and not as powerful as he looks.
You are a victor let not your heart be troubled. Amen.
