PRAYER FOR A CHANGE (2) ENGAGE PRAISE

Posted In: Meditations

ENGAGE PRAISE

Life challenges are real! When the situation is beyond human ability, it is necessary to engage in divinity. When you have prayed and fasted and the problem remains unchanged, you need to change gears so that the heavens can respond quickly. Beyond prayer and fasting, there is another way of calling for divine intervention, which has been demonstrated several times in the Bible: praise.
Praise is part of the worship of the Almighty God but beyond the regular worship in the temple, God had instructed the use of praise to do warfare. Instruments, shouting, and jumping are patterns of praise and worship of God in the temple but this same pattern had been used to defeat enemies and bring about turn around in the face of warfare.

Joshua 6:5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall flat, and the people shall ascend every man straight before him. This was the first city the children of Israel would face after crossing over to the promised land. Jericho was straightly shut up and the city was fortified by bands of army that tired soldiers may not be able to conquer. God had another strategy to win the battle, He instructed them to use what was being used to praise and with a loud shout the wall fell flat. Are you facing a similar situation, things are straightly shut up against you, doors of opportunities are closed or the enemy has tampered with the gate of the flow of your finances, do as they did, get your praise gadgets, and begin to praise the God of Host who can turn situations around. That seeming wall shall crumble at the sound of your praise to God.

Acts 16:25-26 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bands were loosed.

Paul and Silas were arrested in the course of preaching the gospel and delivering the oppressed. They were bound hands and feet in prison waiting for the judgment the following day. It is normal for anyone in such a condition to pray for an intervention from God which they did. In addition to praying they added praises, the scripture says the other prisoners heard them. The combo of prayer and praise drew the power that shattered the prison doors not only that, but the chains on the hands of every prisoner were loosed. Automatic deliverance and freedom! What they cannot get through human connection and understanding, praising God got it for them. The praise did not only set them free but everyone around them had their chains broken!

What is that particular thing that you have prayed and fasted for to turn around in your life? What are you desperately believing God for, if that change seems not to be in view, engage the weapon of praise. You cannot mis-praise God, you may pray amiss as the Bible put it but you cannot praise amiss. God inhabit the praise of his people, anywhere He is been praised, it is an automatic invitation for Him to come there. Psalms 22:3-5  But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. The same God yesterday, today, and forever, He will come through for your lifting. Amen.

Rise up and praise do not allow the situation to overwhelm your soul. Praising God will help you in these areas:

  • Your praise is an indication that you trust God that He can handle your matters
  • Your praise will keep your soul at peace
  • Your praise will put the devil to shame
  • Your praise will help you to make a better decision.
