THE SEASON OF LOVE – REASON FOR CELEBRATION

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son… John 3:16

One can say humanity deserves the crisis, the hardship, the chaos, the troubles, and whatever you can call it that has befallen man after being sent out of Eden. The aftermath of the choice of the first man to disobey God is all the negativity that mankind is experiencing these days. God planted a beautiful place called Eden, a place of comfort, where everything is available, a place of love, harmony, peace, and serenity. God planted a garden not only for man to till but also to enjoy his life.

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:15-17

God put man in the garden and gave him an instruction, DO NOT eat from THIS TREE you can eat all but this particular one, do not eat of it. You know what? devil will always want you to attempt the DO NOTs. Let us assume that there was no restriction on any tree in Eden do you think satan would not have come after man? I do not think so, he is strongly after the destruction of God’s project maybe he would have looked for other means of attacking man. Adam and Eve fell into the trap of disobedience and suffered the consequences together with the entire humanity. After the fall what next? The hosts in heaven will want to see the next line of action.

God started a redemption plan for man. The love that God has for humanity will not allow him to man totally. The climax of His love for us was the birth of Jesus Christ who came for the redemption of our souls. His love is stronger and it has covered the multitude of our sins.

Love is the basis of the Christmas celebration because if Christ had not been born, He would not have gone to the cross. The birth of Jesus was the beginning of the connection back to the good life that God had planned for mankind. We have all the reasons to celebrate.

Think deeply and reflect on what God’s love has helped you to do. Foremost, His love destroyed sin and we obtained forgiveness from our past mistakes.

  • His love gave us life and we have life more abundantly. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
  • His love brought deliverance from oppression. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
  • His love made us to be adopted as God’s children. 1John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…

We have all the reasons to celebrate. But do not celebrate this Christmas without giving, this is an integral part of the season. Go out of your war to make a family in need happy. Make sure you put smiles on the faces of people around you by giving no matter how little, this can make a big difference in letting them know that the Christmas season is for the celebration of LOVE

Keep celebrating His LOVE. Amen.
