Fear Vs Faith 3

Are you afraid of sickness because of those you know are sick? Are you scared of death because many have died and some are dying? It is natural at times to see our mind wondering and asking why are these things happening but the moment the thought begins to torment you and you are not freer to function maximally then, know that behind the scene is the devil the author of fear. Be bold to tell him get thee behind me you foul spirit of fear. Put your trust in the Love that Jesus has for you and build your faith in the spoken word of God. The Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love”.

No fear in LOVE God has given us the spirit of love and a sound mind. The Bible says we should not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. He has fourfold tactics:

He is a liar, the father of lies. He steals. He kills. He destroys  He tells you lies that you are about to lose a thing of value, this will steal your peace and joy, this state kills your initiatives and every faith impulse, kills all your activities that make you pursue what pleases God. Eventually, he will destroy the things you value.

What do you do to conquer the fear?

Name your fears (you may take your pen and paper and write them down if possible). Nail them to the cross (you can consciously call out all the areas of your fear you have written down and begin to say, I nail you to the cross. For example, you can say, sickness I nail you to the cross, poverty I nail you to the cross, failure I nail you to the cross etc.) Christ has already triumphed over them and made a show of them, therefore, be free from now on in Jesus’ name. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind. That sound mind will help you accomplish all your desires in Jesus’ name (2 Timothy 1:7).

Do I have faith at all? This is the question that bothers us when we are confronted with challenges that we feel it is heavier than us. But we all have a measure of faith according to Romans 12:3 …according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

We are naturally faith beings. Even unbelievers walk in faith! That is the part of God that is present in every man because he made us in his image. We have faith in natural things for example you have faith that if you sit on a chair it will not collapse or you naturally believe that as you are walking on the road, the ground will not cave in. If we do not have faith in nature we will not live on this earth comfortably.

What makes our faith different from the natural man is the fact that when nature is giving you a negative signal, we connect our faith to the unlimited faith of Christ which is not rooted in what is seeing but things that are unseeing. 2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Jesus said if you have faith like that of the mustard seed you will command a mountain to move and it will obey you.

That little faith that is in you, please release it as you are declaring the word of God that is relevant to the answer that you want. Don’t let it go. The unlimited faith of Christ will take over and that challenge will shift.

Your faith demands your willpower. If you look through the New Testament those that came to Jesus insisted on what they wanted. You have to tell your mind to believe that you can make and do it. Stand up and dare to believe. Turn your mind away from negative thoughts and circumstances or situations that trouble you. Do not allow your mind to be filled with rumours and gossip especially those flying on social media which is capable of paralyzing your faith.

The devil is smart he uses some of these stories to keep you in a place of fear. But no more! It’s time to change. Fill your heart with the word of God. Faith rides on the wings of the Word. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Turn down the volume of negative news!!! But increase the volume of the Word of God through messages, gospel music and reading Godly and edifying materials. Don’t also joke with fellowship with brethren. Do not limit yourself to church online alone but be under a pastor. There is a need for you to have a spiritual guide. God said through the prophet Jeremiah, Jeremiah 3:15  And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Do all you can to get rid of fear!
