SEVEN GREAT LESSONS OF EASTER
THE SEVEN GREAT LESSONS OF EASTER (2)
We shall continue on the lessons of Easter. It has been established that Jesus died a selective death so that we can be partakers of the full blessings that God had planned ahead for man. Due to the fall of man through sin, we have all come short of His glory. But God redeemed us through Jesus Christ.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:12-21
Therefore:
- Through His death, we have unrestricted access to God’s presence without an intermediary
One remarkable thing that happened when Jesus gave up the Ghost was the tearing of the temple partitions. The Holy of Holies, which was so sacred that nobody dared look into it, was made open for all to see. Matthew 27:50-52 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
His death on the cross paved the way to personal unlimited access to the holy of holies and, by interpretation, the very presence of God. By this, we can access God directly and receive personal revelations from Him. Hebrews 10:19 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.”
- The wall of partition between God and man was broken down by His death.
The death of Christ on the cross removed that great barrier called sin. The enmity between God and man was resolved through Jesus Christ. This is clearly stated in Ephesians 2:13-18: “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”
- Jesus’s death is the ONLY ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE
His death on the cross is presently the only sacrifice that is acceptable to God. After His death, no other sacrifice is acceptable to God. Heb 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
The first sermon of Peter to the people that gathered to see the amazing wonders of God on the day of Pentecost made it clear: Acts 4:10,12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stands here before you whole. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
My prayer is that from henceforth, may we continue to have unrestricted and unhindered access to all of these blessings in the name of Jesus, The Christ. Amen.
